You need to decide how you want the viewer of your photo to feel when you are modelling.
Do you want them to be afraid of you??
Do you want them to respect you?
Do you want them to fall in love with you?
There is one body part which sends your message better than any other.
Your eyes.

To show emotion through your eyes, you have to start by feeling that emotion inside you. Think of it like how actors can approach their roles.
There are many ways you can achieve this, one being putting a situation, environment or specific thought into your mind which links to the emotion you are wanting to show.
For some people, a feeling of relaxed can be achieved by thinking about a pet.
For a feeling of confidence, a person can place their mind into a situation where they associate that feeling.
To show a more flirty emotion, one could think about seeing their crush or partner.
What thoughts you use for showing these emotions are unique to you. You don’t need to tell anyone what you’re thinking either, just focus on yourself and your thoughts during that set of photos.
If you haven’t used a mirror during previous advice, this is the one you will need to use a mirror for.
For sample images, I have done it a little different for this blog. Below you will see a selection of portraits which show the subject using their eyes to convey the emotion; even if you cover up the rest of their face, the eyes still show the same emotion. That is what your aim should be.
Clicking the image will take you to the pinterest board which has more examples (I’ll be adding more over time as well).
This wraps up the planned series of modelling advice; there is always more to learn and there are more blogs planned covering different topics (not just advice and tips). So, thank you for reading and I hope these blogs have helped you so far.
